Cause & Effect

Cause & Effect

SFK Level 2: Be the Artist of Your Life

Dominoes are used to demonstrate the concept of Cause and Effect in SFK. One color domino is used to represent the cause and another is used to represent the effect. First, these two dominoes are lined up next to one another to show how the effect domino falls when the cause is tipped over. Next, a third domino is placed in between the cause domino and the effect domino, representing time. The children are led to recognize that even with this “time” in the middle the effect domino will still fall when the cause domino is tipped over. Lastly, lots of dominoes are placed in between the “cause” and the “effect,” which shows that the same thing happens regardless of how many “time” dominoes there are (i.e., how much time lapses). In fact, there is never an effect without a cause and likewise, never a cause without an effect.

“My actions affect my life. I know that I need to be more responsible. I learned that if I want to get good grades, I will have to do my homework.
