Children's Program

LEVEL 1: “WINNING THE GAME OF LIFE” (25 WEEKS; 50 minutes)
In this level, students are empowered to shift their focus from external to internal. Students will learn how to make better choices and develop an understanding that all people have an essence within that is inherently good. These important concepts articulate for students how each of us has the power within to influence our own lives and the lives of others which will lead to long-lasting happiness while transforming them into more caring and sharing human beings.
Level One is the foundation of all Success For Kids programs and is taught through the analogy of a game. Children learn that life is much like a game:
- There are rules to play by,
- We each have our own personalized opponent which challenges us,
- To put in effort we will earn what we really want,
- Challenges are opportunities (and how to see them that way),
- We are all connected and our actions affect others, and how every person has the potential to “win the game of life”!

LEVEL 2: “BE THE ARTIST IN YOUR LIFE” (25 WEEKS; 50 MINUTES)
Through this art-based curriculum students learn that they have the ability to become the creators of their own life. The teacher uses art as an analogy of life; the artist is the creator or cause and the art is the effect. This program uses artists and their great works to deepen the students’ understanding of the techniques to solve every day challenges. In this level, students learn to apply the tools on a deeper level, ensuring their transfer outside the classroom. Art is used as a means to express the positive influence they can have on their lives and the world around them. They have the power to shape their life in any given moment or circumstance.

LEVEL 3: SERVICE LEARNING (LENGTH DETERMINED BY INDIVIDUAL PROJECT)
Now that students have an understanding of who they are, who their opponent is and how to utilize the all-important tool of sharing as a means to fulfillment, the Service Learning program is an opportunity for students to go out into the world and apply their SFK knowledge. SFK Service Learning projects are organically derived based upon the desires of any given class and the needs of specific communities. SFK’s Service Learning program stands apart from others in that a key component of the project’s process involves consistent self-reflection by students. In addition to the sharing acts of Service Learning, students are prompted to reflect on how they are handling themselves and applying the SFK tools throughout the project to overcome challenges.
