SFK Launches New Sports-Themed Curriculum
SFK is excited to pilot a sports curriculum in London this February. This eight week program offers many of the concepts taught in Level One to children that have never participated in an SFK class.
Using physical education as a base, children gain life-changing knowledge and skills, while at the same time improving their personal fitness.
Children learn how to become better players in any sport and in the Game of Life. For example, they learn that playing against an opponent is necessary in both. Just as an opponent challenges us in basketball, soccer, or baseball, we also need our internal opponent to push us to become better.
In the Game of Life our internal opponent challenges us by telling us we can’t do something, we are not good enough, or to take the easy way out. By overcoming these internal challenges we become better; more secure, more confident, stronger and more purposeful.
It is SFK’s hope and vision to have this sports-themed curriculum also available for summer programming around the world. This is the first step in realizing our goal of incorporating SFK principles into other school-based programs, such as art, music, drama, or dance.
