Questions to ponder:

  • What do you think Piper likes about doing puzzles?
  • Why do you think Piper was so happy to get a puzzle with more pieces than she had ever done before?
  • Why do you think Piper was upset when she saw the finished puzzle her parents helped with?
  • What did Piper’s parents learn from Piper’s reaction and their cat?

Points to remember:

💛 The True Voice encourages us to make an effort, and the Opponent Voice challenges us to take the easy way out.

💛 Making an effort earns us long-lasting fulfillment and gives us feelings of empowerment, confidence, ownership, and pride.

💛 Taking the easy way out and shortcut only temporarily satisfies us and causes us to feel self-doubt, shame, unworthiness, and fear.

💛 The more challenging a task is, the more rewarding it can be.

💛 To win in the Game of Life, we need to identify the areas in our lives where we can make more effort to be the best we can be.

💛 Making an effort to overcome challenges is a success regardless of the outcome.

Words to know:

Effort: Working hard to achieve a goal; leads to long-lasting fulfillment

Easy way out: Not making an effort; leads to temporary fulfillment

This activity will remind you and your children that making an effort results in long-lasting fulfillment.

Materials:

Blank puzzles (maybe be purchased at an art store) or download a puzzle template here

Colored pencils or crayons

Plastic or paper bag

2. Do activity

In this activity, your child will put his/her artistic abilities to use to remind them that making an effort results in more happiness and spiritual fulfillment.

This activity will remind you and your children that making an effort results in long-lasting fulfillment.

Materials:

Blank puzzles (maybe be purchased at an art store) or download a puzzle template here

Colored pencils or crayons

Plastic or paper bag

Instructions:

Instructions:

OPTION A: using blank puzzle

1. On the blank puzzle, have your child draw a picture of his/her choice.

Tip: Colored markers tend to smudge.

2. When the picture is complete, have your child break up the puzzle and then, put it back together.

3. Store the puzzle pieces in a bag. Alternatively, you could mount the puzzle picture on a cardboard or a picture frame and display it as you wish.

OPTION B: using puzzle template

1. Download and print the puzzle template

2. Have your child draw a picture of his/her choice

3. When the picture is complete, have your child cut out the puzzle pieces

4. Mix them up and put the puzzle back together
