Learning to listen to our inner guidance, or how we call it in SFK – our True Voice, is a lifelong practice that usually only manifests later in life. So starting young is key.
You can start now helping your children identify, acknowledge and follow their inner guidance with small, age-appropriate, empowering steps.
Like asking them what they feel, how their bodies feel, and what they think they should do in a given situation.
The more we ask and the less we tell, the more space and opportunities we give our children to check in and look inward for guidance. Giving time to think, making a decision, and conscious breathing is very helpful in addition to the questions.
And, of course, like any practice we would like our children to develop and stick to, there is no better way to teach than to model it ourselves.
