My journey working with kids started with my love and fulfillment in motherhood, which led me into the field of early childhood development.
My background experience in this field cultivated an interest in working with students in diverse programs which included: work with Before/After-School, tutoring, child daycare teacher, the nonprofit sector, curriculum development, and ultimately a unique experience as both an in-home childcare provider and homeschooler!
My love for the youth culminated into a love for educating the Whole child combined with Holistic learning. Eventually, I completed my Bachelors degree in Applied Science, Early Childhood Education, and found a deeper passion for SEL. Throughout my professional experience I ended up discovering SFK, and therein discovered what I believed to be a program with a unique ability to bridge the gap between education, psychological and behavioral life-skills, and spirituality for kids.
Today, I write children’s books, teach STEM, and continue to develop my business Wizdom Kids, and the Wholistic Child Care Approach to learning; which seeks to connect the spiritual child to the natural world, through an educational framework that sparks curiosity, serves multiple intelligences and learning styles, while supporting SEL, and life-skills construction.
SFK is a program I used with my children when I homeschooled and I found it to be very effective in helping them to navigate the road to making better choices from within. Additionally, it helped them to understand themselves as spiritual people who have the ability to make decisions, solve problems, and think critically from a deeper place of their True Self.
After going from parent in the program to facilitator, I found myself truly impressed with the structure and execution of the program for kids overall. The Guidebook and Lightbook are filled with great ideas, effective activities, and clever videos that drive the lessons home, and making it relatable and applicable to kids! I am so excited to finally be an SFK facilitator!
