Outreach update: SFK in East Jerusalem

Outreach update: SFK in East Jerusalem

As we wrap up the school year, we’re excited to share updates from East Jerusalem. Halah Sbetan, our Arabic Language Facilitator Trainer, continues to illuminate the heart of children in East Jerusalem with SFK’s transformative programs. This year, thirteen teachers from Rwad Al-Elm Model School have been trained and certified to teach SFK to their students.

180 boys and 180 girls participated in SFK Level One: Winning in the Game of Life™. This program is designed to help students develop resilience, self-awareness, compassion, and accountability.

The students have made incredible progress. Here are some highlights from recent lessons:

Lesson 8: Students learned to distinguish between reactive feelings and reactive behaviors, and avoid reactive behavior using a four-step formula to stop before reacting and achieve long-lasting fulfillment.

🤝 Lesson 9: Focused on the power of sharing, students discovered that sharing, whether physical items, a smile or a helping hand, leads to greater fulfillment and helps overcome reactive behaviors.

🌐 Lesson 11: Explored the concept of our interconnectedness, helping student see how we are all connected by the spark of Light within us. They learned that reactive behaviors disconnect us from others and the Light, while sharing behaviors connect us to both.

Halah Sbetan was honored by the school administration for her outstanding work in bringing SFK to the children.

Looking Forward: Next school year, students from Rwad Al-Alm Model School are excited to advance to SFK Level Two: Exploring the Journey of Life.
