SFK Newsletter

Dear SFK Community,

Welcome to our newsletter, where we share inspiring updates and glimpses of the beautiful work our ambassadors and facilitators are doing around the world. It’s always difficult to capture, in words or pictures, the depth of inner transformation happening in the lives of children, parents, guardians, and teachers through SFK.

We live in a world where challenges, chaos, and uncertainty seem louder than ever, where every headline and social media post can pull us outward and away from ourselves. Yet, what we teach at SFK, and what I try to practice personally, is that true change begins inward. It’s not about ignoring what’s happening in the world; it’s about grounding ourselves in the wisdom and strength within us so we can meet the world with clarity, compassion, and courage. This is the work we invite children to do, too, equipping them with a framework, a language, and daily practices to return to their inner Light even when everything around them feels uncertain.

In that same spirit, my new children’s book, L.B. Discovering the Inner Light, was born. It’s a reminder to children (and all of us) that they are never alone, even when faced with private thoughts or big feelings. Guidance and support are always present; all we need is to learn how to pause and listen for it. If you haven’t had a chance to read it yet, I truly encourage you to. When it was finished, I was surprised by how much it reminded me of my own inner journey. We are all L.B., and yes, we are all magical!

Finally, I want to take a moment to thank you for your support. Everything we do is possible because of the generosity of people like you. If you feel inspired to help us continue this work, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to SFK. Every contribution, big or small, makes a meaningful difference in bringing these tools to more children and families around the world.

Thank you for walking this path with us and for believing in this delicate and important work.

With Gratitude and Blessings,

“Inner Wisdom for kids!”

I love this story! It’s a great way to help children learn about their inner strength and how to constructively deal with their negative emotions.

Lyndra Uzan, Elementary Educator – LAUSD

Beautiful! My 6 year old daughter said it was the best book I’ve read to her. “

Soulful and full of heart… A beautiful addition to public library shelves, bedtime routines, or classroom discussions, the book is perfect for nurturing self-awareness, empathy, and inner calm. A stunner! “

SFK Training Reaches Educators in Azerbaijan

SFK Training Reaches Educators in Azerbaijan

We’re proud to share that two dedicated educators from Oxbridge Academy in Baku, Azerbaijan, have just completed their SFK Facilitator Training Program and will begin teaching the SFK Level One Curriculum, Winning in the Game of Life, to their students after the summer.

Participants, Gulnara Gurbanova, Director of Student Support Services and Raisa Miskarli-Gadirova, Head of Primary School shared their heartfelt reflection:

“It was a privilege to be a part of the SFK journey. I loved the clarity of the platform- its structure, tools, and values. SFK teaches not only children, but adults as well, to find their real identity: their Light and True Voice and to share it with others and even with our planet.”

– Gulnara

” I really enjoyed the course. There are also certain changes in my personality after working on the modules.
I am so happy to be part of this project and looking forward to starting to implement all that I have learned. Best wishes! “

– Raisa

We are inspired by educators like Gulnara and Raisa who are committed to personal growth and to empowering the next generation with tools for inner transformation.

Because when teachers grow, so do their students.

We are deeply grateful to the dedicated facilitator, Jossely Alarcon, and the community leaders at Naomi For Kids, who are making this transformation possible.

Update from Bolivia:

Volunteer Training and Program Expansion

Update from Bolivia:

Volunteer Training and Program Expansion

By Sharoll Fernandez Siñani,
SFK Ambassador and Trainer |
Zera Founder and CEO

Zera Bolivia has recently launched a training program for six young women—three in person and three online—to implement SFK’s Winning in the Game of Life curriculum. Training sessions are held every Saturday at their center in El Alto, a city largely populated by Aymara and Quechua families who have migrated from rural areas in search of better opportunities. These communities often face poverty, discrimination, and limited access to safe educational spaces, making this work especially vital.

Despite Bolivia’s current economic crisis, which has seen inflation soar to 14.63% and basic food prices rise up to 79%, the volunteers remain committed. Many come from challenging personal backgrounds and see the program as an opportunity for personal and professional growth. One volunteer, Emily Flores, was particularly moved by a lesson on “Rules,” noting how basic values like punctuality and respect can transform a city often viewed as chaotic.

The volunteers are preparing to bring the program to three partner schools- Unidad Educativa Simón Bolívar, Eduardo Avaroa, and Franz Tamayo, where they will work alongside teachers.

Beyond technical training, the program is designed to foster a sense of purpose, leadership, and belonging for the volunteers. Their participation is helping lay the foundation for emotional strength, self-awareness, and hope among children in El Alto—bringing meaningful change to one of Bolivia’s most underserved areas.

Spotlight from Guatemala: Empowering Leaders of Futbol KY

We’re honored to highlight a beautiful collaboration in Guatemala between SFK and Futbol KY, a youth organization that uses the power of football (soccer) to educate, inspire, and transform lives. Founded with a mission to promote values, personal growth, and social inclusion through sport, Futbol KY provides young people with a safe space to dream, connect, and grow on and off the field.

Founders Heidi and Giovanni Alvarez were trained by our SFK Trainer, Ceci Rivero, to facilitate and bring the curriculum “Winning in the Game of Life” to the youth in the club.

Here’s what they shared about their experience:

“I’ve always loved working with children, but I used to hold back when it comes to speaking with adults. This course gave me the tools and confidence to express myself more freely—and that fills me with joy and pride.”

– Heidi

The puppets we made represent my True Voice and the Voice of my Opponent. I think when you find your True Voice, you find a reason to make a difference.

– Giovanni

We’re deeply grateful to Cecile and the entire Futbol KY team for their dedication to planting seeds of transformation in their community-one voice, one heart, one Light at a time.

Testimonial from Banat Elqods School’s Teacher

” This year the winning game of life for (sfk) organization was introduced in the school and we were tainted to pass it on the students. I was lucky to be one of the teachers who were trained to work in the program to pass it to my student.

The program was one of the best and strongest programs that existed in the school. It had a strong impact on me personally and on my student and help me in my personal life. Such as thinking and taking a breath before taking any action if I was under pressure or something happened. Which made my life better and calmer.

I would like to thank the program organizers and halah sbitan for the guidance and advice she provided. “

Led by Esperanza (Pera) Noriega, New Edulight partners directly with schools to provide transformative learning experiences that support students’ emotional, social, and spiritual development. Through customized programs, training, and educator support, they help build school environments rooted in empathy, mindfulness, and inner strength.

One special moment in our growing collaboration was the recent webinar, “The Power of Pause: Guiding Children to Calm, Confidence, and Connection,” inspired by L.B. Discovering the Inner Light book. Educators explored tools to help children connect with their inner wisdom and build resilience- tools that align beautifully with both NewEdulight’s and SFK’s missions.
