Our hearts are broken as we learn about the horrific school shooting in Uvalde, TX. Not again.
No words will ever be able to explain or comfort. And we will never fully understand what is going on in the mind of a person capable of this heinous act. So we are left only with questions and a hole in our hearts, and a desire to hold and comfort the families enduring this unimaginable pain of losing a child.
But one thing we know for sure is that when a young person has no tools to manage their difficult emotions and build resilience, no support or the ability to ask for help, and does not recognize the interconnectedness of all people and connect to their divinity – it can lead to dangerous levels of isolation, anger, and a sense of meaningless life.
SFK’s work and reach are a drop in the ocean, and there is so much more that can and needs to be done, but as Mother Teresa said:
“We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.”
So let’s have this event strengthen our commitment to our families, community, and ourselves -to elevate our consciousness, develop our resiliency, and love more deeply.
With love,
Michal and the SFK team
